Unless you are a web surfer in the true meaning of the concept, if you are reading this, I am almost certain that you know Google. Or, you think you know Google. You are probably aware that Google is a “search engine”, that almost 80% of the internet searches in the world are done through Google. If you are a metro- or uber-geek, you probably know that the term “to google” became part of the English language, as in “she googled her high school boyfriends”. But here’s one piece of geek trivia that you might not know: The “Google” spelling is also used in “The Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy” by Douglas Adams, in which one of Deep Thought’s designers asks, “And are you not,” said Fook, leaning anxiously forward, “a greater analyst than the Googleplex Star Thinker in the Seventh Galaxy of Light and Ingenuity which can calculate the trajectory of every single dust particle throughout a five-week Dangrabad Beta sand blizzard?”
